Our Pizza
What is Detroit-style pizza?
Detroit-style pizza is a square pie baked in a steel pan. The dough is light, airy and focaccia-like, and the cheese is spread all the way to the edges so it caramelizes into a crispy, cheesy crust. Sauce often goes on top. Joyride Pizza serves San Francisco’s take on classic Detroit-style pizza, hand built from the best ingredients.
How many people does a pizza feed?
Our large Detroit-style pizza serves two people (6 slices) and our personal pizza serves one.
Do you serve breakfast?
Yes. Breakfast sandwiches and morning favorites are served at our Pier 1 and Walnut Creek locations.
Gluten-Free, Vegan & Allergies
Do you have gluten-free pizza?
Yes. Any pizza can be made with our gluten-free crust, which is made with Bob’s Red Mill 1-to-1 gluten-free flour. Our gluten-free crust is also dairy-free.
Is your kitchen safe for celiacs?
No. Our kitchen is not certified gluten-free and there is a risk of cross-contamination. If you have celiac disease or are highly sensitive to gluten, we are not a good option for you.
Do you have vegan and dairy-free options?
Yes. You can swap in dairy-free cheese and vegan “meat” (bacon, chicken, sausage or pepperoni), and several of our starters and salads are vegan. Our gluten-free crust contains no dairy.
What if I have a food allergy?
Please tell your server about any food allergies before ordering. Many of our products, even gluten-free-friendly ones, may contain or come into contact with common allergens including wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, dairy and sesame.
Ordering, Receipts & Order Issues
How do I order online?
Order pickup or delivery from any of our locations on our online ordering site.
Do you deliver?
Yes! Order direct on our online ordering site for pickup or delivery. Delivery is available from select locations and is delivered by DoorDash drivers. Ordering direct is the best way to support us.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes! Digital Joyride Pizza gift cards are available online in $10, $25, $50 and $100 amounts. They make a great gift for any pizza lover.
Do you have a rewards program?
Yes! Sign up or log in when you order online to join our rewards program. You’ll earn points on your orders that you can redeem for rewards.
What are your hours?
Hours vary by location. Visit the page for your nearest Joyride Pizza for current hours, address and directions.
How do I get a receipt?
Email hello@joyridepizza.com with the location, date, time and total amount of your order, and we’ll send you a receipt.
Something was wrong with my order. What should I do?
We’re sorry! Email hello@joyridepizza.com with the location, date and time of your order and a description of what went wrong, and our team will make it right.
Why is there a 5% surcharge?
A 5% surcharge is added to all orders at Pier 1, Yerba Buena, Valencia St. and Market St. to cover San Francisco mandates, including health insurance for our staff.
Catering
Do you offer pizza catering?
Yes! We cater office lunches, corporate events, large parties and pizza parties with our Detroit-style pizza, salads, wings and sweets. Catering orders are placed online through CaterCow, our catering partner.
Is there a minimum order for catering?
No. There’s no minimum order for catering.
How large a group can you cater?
We cater groups of 10 to 200+ guests, from small team lunches to large parties.
Where do you deliver catering?
We deliver catering throughout San Francisco, the East Bay and the South Bay.
How many pizzas should I order for my group?
Each large pizza serves two people, so plan on about one large pizza for every two guests. That’s around 25 large pizzas for 50 people or 100 for 200 people, or a few less if you add salads, wings and sides.
Private Events & Happy Hours
Can I host a private event at Joyride Pizza?
Yes. Our Yerba Buena Gardens restaurant, right above Moscone Center and about a 3-minute walk from the convention halls, offers semi-private and fully private event space for up to 150 guests: an indoor dining room, outdoor patio and covered loggia.
Do you have a happy hour?
Yes! Happy hour is Monday through Friday, 3pm–5pm, at our Valencia St., Market St. and Pier 1 locations.
Is Joyride a good spot for a group happy hour?
Absolutely. Our Yerba Buena Gardens and Pier 1 locations are great venues for team and group happy hours, with Detroit-style pizza, beer, wine and room for a crowd. Yerba Buena is steps from Moscone Center, and Pier 1 sits right on the Embarcadero.
Can I host a kids’ birthday party? Can we bring our own cake?
Yes! Joyride is a great spot for kids’ birthday parties, with pizza, a kids’ menu and soft serve. You’re welcome to bring your own birthday cake; a cakeage fee applies. Email hello@joyridepizza.com or schedule time with our events team to plan your party.
What kinds of events do you host?
Corporate events, conference meetings, networking events, holiday parties, receptions and happy hours, plus birthdays, showers, engagement and wedding parties, rehearsal dinners, family reunions and bar and bat mitzvahs.
Can I reserve a bowling lane?
For same-day reservations at the Bowling Center at Yerba Buena Gardens, call 415-820-3541.
Visiting: Parking, Access & Dogs
Where can I park?
Parking varies by location. Each location page lists the closest garages, street parking and public transit options.
Are your locations wheelchair accessible?
Yes. All Joyride Pizza locations are wheelchair accessible.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are welcome in our Valencia St. parklet and on the patios at Pier 1, Market St. and Walnut Creek. At Yerba Buena Gardens, only service dogs are permitted.

Who owns Joyride Pizza?
Joyride Pizza is family-owned and locally owned and operated in the Bay Area. Brothers Jesse and Joshua Jacobs, the original owners and founders of Samovar Tea, created Joyride Pizza in 2021 to bring more joy to the Bay Area.
Is Joyride Pizza a franchise? Can I open one?

What happened to Samovar Tea?
Samovar Tea is still going strong at samovartea.com. Joyride Pizza was started in 2021 by Samovar’s original owners and founders.
